Hey Scotty, I am looking at a 1978 Corvette Indy pace car. It has 45,000 miles with an automatic transmission for $15,000. I live in Boston and this is about 40 miles away. This guy would probably get less than 2000 miles a year on it. I don’t drive my cars hard. What do you think of this?

It is old. You want to get proof of the mileage as those odometers would roll over at 100k miles. It could be 45k miles, or it could be 445k miles.
The price is high and parts will be expensive. If you want a toy they are fun cars, but just know what you are getting into.
