Hey Scotty my 1979 f-250 with a 400 engine has normal oil pressure upon startup but the pressure drops below the half way mark after it idles for awhile. New oil pump, oil and filter. 10w40. How can i increase the oil pressure? Thicker oil with more zinc?

You can try straight 40 wt oil and see if the pressure at idle improves but if it doesn't suspect worn rod bearings. They basically are too lose/worn so they bleed off oil pressure within the engine.  A high pressure/high volume oil pump could help but it just prolongs the situation really.  If you go that route then check your rod bearings for play and also remove some to inspect their bearing condition and crank rod bearing surface as well.
