Hey scotty, I have a chip on my fiberglass 1980 corvette door panel. its about the size of my thumb. I will add a YouTube link for you to see. Anyways I went to an auto body repair shop and talked to the manager about repairing it. He seemed to know what he was talking about. going over how he will resin mix and mold too the door. he quoted me $1000 for the fix. but I didn't see a clean controlled environment room. in fact the place was disgusting, trash everywhere and all doors and windows open. I think it was his residence too. should I go elsewhere?

If it were me, I'd avoid any dirt bag place like that.

What you can do is this.

Go to a boat dealer and get a fiberglass repair kit. Shouldn't cost more than $50. Follow the instructions and fix the chip yourself. Then all you need is a little touch up paint.

Chips in a fiberglass boat are common, so is the way of fixing them.
