Coolant leak and Power Steering issue

I own a volvo Xc90 2004, inline 5.
It had a coolant leak when I bought it and so I decided to fix it myself. I figured out the thermostat housing gasket was blown and slowly leaking coolant. I replaced the whole thermostat, but its a volvo, it was cramped. So I had to remove the power steering pump to get in there. I replaced some of the lost power steering fluid after the job was done with the recommended fluid. But even still after the job was done, the power steering seems a bit stiffer than normal. I also still had a slight coolant leak so I tightened the hoses and that seemed to have fixed it. What could be wrong with my power steering?

Air in the PS system.  Jack up the front end, start the car and turn the steering wheel full lock to lock in both directions several times.  Re-check the PS fluid level.  This should burp the air out of the system.
