Looking at a 1985 F-250 with a 6.9 Diesel 4 speed manual with 95,000 original motor and transmission. It’s got a flat bed with bale fork that work. They said it’s got a small fuel leak and old batteries but it runs and drives. They want $5,700 for it. Is it really worth that much and are they good trucks. It’s at a ford dealership

I will say that those 6.9 engines will run for a long time but they are slow as hell. The 4 speed is manual is pretty good and won't crap out on you too easily either. I have seen a few of these with blown steering gearboxes and I think its a common issue so you might look out for that. And make sure that the diesel isn't leaking around the injector pump. That pump is like 600 dollars for a rebuilt one and they do wear out after a while so chances are it has been replaced.
