1986 ford ranger, i have gone through everything from the computer and engine, when cold it will sputter and try to die out, and will rev up back to 1000 rpm to warm up and try to sputter and die again, until i hit the gas, runs fine, other than abit of hesitation on takeoff, and hesitation after going a steady speed for a while, bad mpg, 14/13, does not have any codes other than it is running rich, just replaced fuel pressure regulator, going to replace ect sensor, everything is sound with the electrical system, to my knowledge, thanks for the help
Wow! That thing's so old. I would start by changing the fuel filter and pressure test the fuel pump. It could be a weak fuel pump. But if the fuel pump is okay, odds are your fuel. Injectors aren't working right? They may need replacing
