Hey guys, I recently bought a 86 Cutlass supreme to work on so I can learn to take care of cars and I was wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for. It was sitting for 4 years and it has 117,000 miles on it. Already replaced the belts and it has had it's transmission rebuilt beforehand. It runs fine but you never know with an older car like that.

I would highly recommend a cooling system flush with a new thermostat and hoses if they look really old. Worst thing that could happen is if you overheat it due to a clogged/junkeed up cooling system. A car that old if overheated could blow your head gaskets.

A new set of tires could be a good idea if they sat long enough.
