I got a 1988 Chevrolet s10, 2.8l 4 speed automatic. Only around 70k miles, in really good condition. How much could I tow with it?

You are talking about a 33 years old truck. I don't think it is a smart idea to tow with that truck.

FYI: the towing capacity is 2000 pounds.

Agreed Yaser. I have fond memories of my old 87 square body S10 (4 cylinder, 4 speed manual, UPS brown) but it was more of a runabout than a workhorse. Although on the other hand, it’s not a great collectible, so what do you have to lose? Wear it out and pass it on to some kid for an LS swap 😉

Yeah y’all are probably right. I was just mainly curious. Appreciate the replies

2000lb is what the factory hitch is rated for. The truck has some 100 and change horsepower, which is less than a modern sedan. You won't be going anywhere fast.
