1990 Buick Reatta quirky transmission

Hi, Scotty- Thank you for your show and all that you do ...

I own a 1990 Buick Reatta convertible with 59,000 miles on it...all Reattas have 4 speed automatic transmissions; I live in DFW area of Texas...this car starts right up, runs and drives great; however, the transmission has issues; putting it into drive/od is fine, I drive it to 1st stop sign let's say 500 yards...from dead stop it will hesitate to move/ 1st gear to engage; after it does, it could repeat same at other complete stops...while cruising above 50 mph, seems like transmission shifts from 4th/OD to 3rd then back at odd intervals with no noticeable speed decrease...I have not had it scanned and no warning lights...does this sound like a throttle valve/cable issue or ?

The tranny fluid is full, bright red and no leaks...

Really it seems more like the transmission itself is starting to go out but you could check the shift down cable to see if it's binding and not working right and pray it's something that simple
