Hi scotty, I have a 1990 Honda Accord with 205,000 miles on it. The engine is still running strong, unfortunately I can't say that about the 4 speed automatic transmission because it slips in 2nd gear shifting up to 3rd only when the rpm's are above 3,000. I've serviced the trans about 2 months ago with genuine Honda DW-1 auto trans fluid hoping that would solve the issue. My question is how to diagnose if a shift solenoid is going bad or the trans is just wearing out? Do u have any recommendations for remanufactured transmissions? I want to replace it because I just put a timing belt kit and replaced the cam and oil seals on it and the engine only burns about half a quart of oil between oil changes. The dealer doesn't stock them anymore so my only options are used and remanufactured. I rather go with a reman unit that has a 3year warranty or better Thank you for reading my question. Any advice helps.
- No those things. It's just wearing out internally. When they start slipping they're worn. You might try these guys
