Hey Scotty!

I met a really nice elderly lady who had a 1990 prelude 4WS Si with 98,250 miles! what’s your take on that car? I offered 5 grand and she accepted! I currently own an 05 civic and looking for a fun car to drive! Thanks again!

I think you paid way too much money. Hopefully it won't cost too much to keep the 30yo car going.

I only paid $1500 for my 1989 4WS with 133k miles when I bought it 6 months ago. It's one fun car and I love mine but it is a parts nightmare. For a Honda, many of the parts for the car when you inevitably need them are going to be hard to get. This is because in this model of car a large portion (not all) of the parts are one-offs just for the prelude and are not interchangeable with other Hondas. I'd just recommend being ready for when something goes wrong as you may have to be patient finding second-hand parts or paying a small fortune to have them fabricated at a machine shop. Prelude3g makes great tutorials for fixing many of the common issues with the car if you feel inclined as well as aftermarket modifications you can do to improve the look and feel of the car (ex: permanently fixing the faded paint on the window trim). Enjoy it but I think you might have overpaid. Though these 4WS models are super rare and I have seen better condition ones in action start at around $5000 and go well into the 10k+ range.
