I found a 1990 Toyota Celica on Craiglist for $2500. It has 150k miles on it. Is this one of the good ones?

These were reliable cars but now it's 32 years old. The fuel injection system lacks modern diagnostics, meaning most of today's mechanics won't work on it. The fuel system was not designed for ethanol-laced gasoline. You can bet all the rubber parts in the car have deteriorated. (Fuel hoses, brake hoses, suspension bushings, etc.) unless they have been replaced in the recent past. These cars would rust like crazy. Not much of a problem in the Seattle area but the car could have spent years in the salt belt. Who knows how it's been treated over the last 3 decades.

You might even have a hard time finding a mechanic willing to do a pre-purchase inspection on something that old. I'd say if you're not going to be working on it yourself you should pass it by.
