Original title: 1991 Toyota Corolla Wagon
Just picked up a 2001 Corolla Wagon for $500. Automatic 160k miles
Anyways, it's leaking oil heavily by the timing belt cover. Like leaving puddles when parked a few mins. And oil smoking after driving like a hour or two.
But still starts on up and drives fine.
How reliable are these old things? I see trans pan gasket is leaking a bit. If I change it and change some fluid could it mess up trans should I save old fluid put it back in? Trans fluid smells fine doesn't smell burnt or super old.
Would like a expert opinion on these things.
Doesn't have a engine light and the AC blows ice cold, how bout that lmao.
Well, they are pretty reliable vehicles. But since it's so old you'll have to take the front of the engine apart and probably have to replace all the seals. The cam seals, the crank seals and all the rubber parts inside there. Start there
