I have a 1993 Geo Prizm with over 175,000 miles on it and the struts are all shot. It bounces very bad and I was wondering what brand of struts are best for it. The car is otherwise in excellent condition. It has the Toyota 1.6L and an automatic without overdrive. Also how do I know which automatic transmission I have in it?
Just don't buy the cheapest thing out there and just OEM replacements will do but they might be harder to find since the car is older.
You have alot of choice. A popular choice are the shocks that are already built, just need to bolt the on and that's it. You could get all 4 for about 200-300$. FCS or Monroe etc..
It won't be like when it came out of the factory but it works. I never had problems with those kind of shocks really. They lasted years for me. Some people like them, some people dont.
@suzuki
Thanks. I'm not worried about the factory ride I just was looking for something that will last a good long time and not bouncing so bad as it is right now. It literally feels like I'm riding in a roller coaster especially every time I got a bump.
