Hello, I thought i smelled raw gas when i opened the trunk. I took it for a drive today and it ran rough and started billowing white smoke out of the tail pipe. When I got home it ran smoother and i revved it up and no white smoke. I checked the dip stick and under the oil filler cap but no signs of anything wrong. It also seemed to be using up gas. The tank was almost empty.
Your most immediate problem is the smell of raw gas. Fix that ASAP.
The white smoke can wait.
White smoke is the classic symptom of a blown head gasket.
Thanks for the reply. there is no milkshake under the oil filler cap, coolant looks good, and the oil on dipstick looks pure. With the loss of gas mileage I'm thinking fuel injector needs replacing. There is some sort of leak on driver side of engine. Oil or gas i don't know which
If you can't fix it, buy a newer model es300. The 2003 es300's go for about 3 grand.
