I have a 1994 Ford Ranger that has 120k miles. It makes this thunping noise right behind the dash. I believe it only happens when the heat is on, and after its reached optimal temperature. The ac never blows cold, so I just don't use it in the summer, but this thumping is starting to get quite annoying. Could this be linked to the AC? Or is it something else? I have been told different things by different people, so I'm kind of lost here. Thank you!

Generally something in a dash is either air is in your heater core or your ac refrigerant system has a problem of course the AC will only come on when you use defrost so if you don't have defrost on and it's dumping it's not the AC it's more likely air in the heater core
