Greetings Scotty! I have 2008, 105 000 miles Renault Scenic 2, 1.6, 16v, petrol engine. It has some sort of electric problem. Sometimes the radio stops working and won't turn on. The display unit shows only the clock on the spot where radio should appear and when I get out and lock the car the clock stays on and the whole display is draining the battery. To fix that i usually disconnect the negative terminal for a minute and it resets the whole system. But this is no bueno in the cold of the winter here in Bulgaria. I dont want to part with this car since I'm a big guy and this car is super comfortable for me. Please help!
P. S. I've checked the the radio fuses and change them. Still no result.
The BCM of your car needs to be checked. It seems that the computer is acting up. Of this is the case, it cost a fortune to fix. I would live with that by finding the fuse for the display and add a manual switch to that. In this way, you bypass the computer and manually turn the screen off whenever you need to.
