Hello. RE: 1995 Buick Century sedan 3.1L V6- 084,000 miles on six digit odometer
Exhaust odor present when stopped and idling. Odor goes away when moving.forward. Exhaust system replaced in 2023. Exhaust system checked over, no issues found. The EGR valve was cleaned and reinstalled with new gaskets. The bottom line, the odor source cannot be found.
The car runs and idles absolutely smoothly, service engine light has not come on. 20 MPG local, 30 MPG highway. The car does not use oil.
Is there any possibility of a crack in the cylinder head? Do you have any suggestions as to where to look? Thank you for your attention.

Why would you think that? Are you losing coolant?

Oil leaks dripping on the exhaust are a definite possibility on a car that is nearly 30 years old.

How? Was it smoke tested?
