I have a 1995 caprice classic with 140k miles. It runs great when I’m driving around but when I stop at a drive through it wants to run hot. The fans are working as should and it has coolant. What could the problem be?

use a thermometer gun to look for cold spots in the radiator. Also make sure the fins are clean and not full of debris.

How old is the water pump, thermostat, radiator cap?
The water pump is new and I’m going to put a new thermostat in it Friday. I need to check the radiator cap
