I am looking at buying a 1995 F150 with 5.0 engine with 214,000 miles
It is selling for $1,200 and says it runs and drives
Is this worth buying ?

If the vehicle isn't rusting out, test drive that vehicle and have a professional mechanic look it over. If you like the truck, lower the price to $1k. I would not daily drive a 27-year old pickup truck.

sounds cheap now, but ... big risk for ending up with a money pit

The 5.0 back in those days was decent. As above said, get that thing looked over really good and I mean check EVERYTHING. Could still have some good life left in it.
