Hi Scotty and followers,

I've decided to refurb my 1995 Jeep.  It has been a workhorse!

Question 1:  Is it worth it to refurb a 25 year old vehicle?

Question 2:  Wire harnesses.  Does anyone make replacement wire harnesses for older vehicles?

Thank you

If it's not rusted and in good condition overall it may be worth it. The 4.0 is definitely a real workhorse as you say. Assuming ithe Jeep has an automatic trans though the Grand Cherokee (unlike the Cherokee XJ) has a weak Chrysler 4-speed transmission. (You didn't say what the current mechanical condition is but I would not be surprised if the 4.0 is still running strong but the trans showing signs of distress.)

The major Jeep suppliers sell wiring harnesses but a quick looks shows most of them are for the older CJs and Wranglers, but you might want to contact companies like quadratec.com and 4wd.com for specifics.
