Car has had this issue for every since it had about 80000 Now it has 104, 000 I have removed it and pulled out all the copper screws and cleaned and tighten them and now it works but, suddenly a week ago it stopped again, and later came back working.  So, its not 100 percent fixed.  I order a used speedo pod on EBAy, he is letting me test it since its not the exact part number yet is for a Nissan Max. 1996, if it  works does anyone think this issue will come back with another speedo?   Its not the speed sensor, it was replaced a few years ago.  The code sets if it stops for a longer time.  But, if it stops working the signal from it to the computer stops and the transmission will not shift good.   Thanks in advance

Well it doesn't matter that your place is speed sense and they can still go bad they're pretty cheaply made. Because of it's not that then either the wiring between the sensor and the dash is gone bad or the dash unit itself is going bad and you have to buy a whole dash

I love you videos, any chance you can view my other issue with my 1999 Solara I posted too. Thanks, in response, I am trying a used cluster, that I assume will not have same issue. I checked all the wiring to and from the sensor to dash and to computer they were good. The only time it is lost is when speedometer stops. Code is set when it stays not working for a bit.

No repair should require replacement of the “whole” dash it very well could be in the cluster since it’s intermittent in nature leads more towards an electrical problem than a mechanical.  Those cars were not proned to electrical problems as much as components over time
