hello scotty
i have a hyundai accent 2012 automatic transmission. 233,000 kms on the car
oil goes low by 0.8 to 1 Litre every 1000 km no leaks just burnt or evaporated i guess
i drive the car in toronto ,ontario , canada . so it is mainly in cold weather but high traffic jams.
i use 5w20 engine oil either castrol or mobile (high milage full synsetic)
that kind of oil supposed to stay 10,000 km for each change
i change it on 7000 km and comes out so dirty
so the question how can i stop that oil burning issue?
You are at 144,000 miles on the Hyundai, which is beyond its useful life. At this point besides changing PCV valve - and forget about rebuilding the engine - just keep adding oil and I’d recommend starting to look for another vehicle.
By a battery made car Korean engines in a Taurus for burning oil as they age they're not made that well. But oil is relatively cheap just keep adding it you certainly don't want to rebuild the engine that cost thousands
That's nearly 145,000 miles in real measurement, quite a bit for one of those cars. If you have not already done so you could try installing a new PCV valve. That may help a little but the reality is that it's the least expensive car from a manufacturer not known for quality or longevity - your engine is worn out.
Next time, buy a much better quality car.
