I am looking to buy a 2014 Hyundai veloster turbo with 150,000km but it has a clicking/rattling noise when it’s reved up a bit as well as under load when driving. I have heard that GDI engines have some noises when driving which is normal but IDK. It’s not super loud but I can hear it at certain RPMs and under load when driving. I know GDI engines have some noises to them that are normal but I don’t know if this is the valve lifters or not because that is an expensive job if it is.

You should have a good mechanic examine that vehicle before buying it to evaluate the noise and any other potential problems. This should be done when considering the purchase of any used car.
