2011 Ford flex 187,000
my Ford flex at night when the head lights are on going down the road the drivers side headlight only keeps going off then it will come back on down the road. Even the bright does it as well. Or if it won't come back on I'll shut car off and turn car back on then headlight comes back on. Is it a short? A socket? Or bad headlight? It would be kind of odd for the dim and bright both to be going bad. Any help is appreciated
could be a lot of things ... loose connection, bad fuse, bad bulb, chafed wires .....
There's no point guessing, you have to actually look at it.
@imperator well we already know it's not a bad fuse because both would be doing it
I've seen fords with separate fuses for left and right
well we already know it's not a bad fuse because both would be doing it
Are you sure about that? A lot of cars have separate fuses for each headlight. (Mine does.) Though of course if a fuse were blown the headlight would not work at all.
There is a lot more to the lighting circuit than fuses. If the problem is not something obvious like a corroded headlight socket or bad ground you need to do some basic electrical troubleshooting using a circuit diagram.
