I'm also looking at a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera with the V6 100K miles. Do you know anything about that?
The V6 motor is better than the V8 in the Cadillac. Because that car is 25 years old, have a mechanic check it out. My dad had a Oldsmobile ciera and it was alright.
I don't have a mechanic that I know that well to look over, plus it's a little far from where I live. Is there anything notable that I need to make sure is in good shape? What are common problems that will cost alot to get fixed if not working well. Thank you.
I own a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with the V6 and it has 192k miles on it and it still runs great, purchased it for $500 for my first car and still use it to this day. The one you're looking to buy only has 100k on it so I'd get it before someone else does, they are very reliable and great cars from my experience. Not that slow either 😉
Currently it’s listed at almost $1600. Given the age and mileage what do you think would be a good price? Thank you.
That's a pretty good price given that it's pretty low milage for one of these cars (Usually I see them with 200k or 300k miles.) I also remember a dealership charging $4k for one with 60k miles and near perfect condition. If almost everything on it works and it's clean inside and out, I'd say purchase it before anyone else does, they can just keep running and running. And if it yearly fluid changes during its life then engine and transmission should still outlast the crappy plastic interior, reason I know this is because when I first changed the oil it was completely brown and clearly hadn't been changed in years, but it still keeps going. (Though as a safety precaution check all the fluids just to be safe, and if any of the fluids need to be changed or added make sure to do that right after you buy it.) Don't do what I do and buy your cars sight on seen without checking anything and hoping you're going to make it home without anything bad happening lol.
