Hey Scotty,
Recently I tried to use the windshield washer fluid and nothing came out. Looked at it and the level was low, so I added. Now the level is low again, what could be the problem. Also I'm likely going to get my oil changed here and I have 150k miles on my car. What else should have add on for my mechanic to do while it is in. Thanks
What kind of car is it? Checking brakes and air filter may be wise if you are unaware of their condition.
97 camry, close to 150k miles
Check for a leak in the washer tank and that the pump is working properly or at all.
On a car that old you will likely find that the rubber washer fluid hose has deteriorated where it connects to the wiper motor and is leaking fluid. I've had this happen on several older vehicles. Usually it's just the end of the hose that deteriorates badly. You can snip the end of the hose off and if it's long enough connect it back up, or if you have to cut it too short add another length of hose with a suitable fitting/connector.
