2014 Toyota Camry hybrid 210000 miles every time I turn on heat I get this smell like air freshener. I have checked coolant leak I didn’t find any. The coolant and the Reservoir and the radiator is clean. I have changed heater core a week ago it didn’t help I can still smell it. When the ac I don’t smell it. Since you are in Rhode Island I live in Massachusetts and I was wondering if there is any way I can bring it down so you can look at it thank you appreciate it
Did somebody put some air freshener in the vent?
I can't think of anything that would cause a fresh air smell, but if air freshener was in the vent and got warm, it may cause it to smell more with the heat on.
At least it is better than smelling all stinky, unless there is something dangerous that smells like air freshener?
The glycol in your coolant can give off a smell like air freshener - sniff it, and see if the smell in the car is the same. It would only take a few teaspoons of leakage to make the smell, so it could be a very small leak,
