Hey, Scotty - Love your show - I've got a GMC Jimmy (1997) - When I hook up the battery it will start all by itself & won't stop when you put the key in, only when I take out the top 2 rows of fuses. Scared the hell out of me. I've been working on cars as long as you & never seen this one before. A while back I sent you an email on torque specs on cylinder head (2001 Ranger) torque to yield - The answer was follow the book

Replace the starter normally that's just the starter itself shorting up it could be ignition switch or a dead wiring short to power but almost always replace your replace the starter that stops
