Hi Scotty,
Thank's for setting this forum. Recently I started having funny issues with my car (Audi A3 1.9 TDI Manual 5 speeds- 2005 - 190 000 km) I bought about a year and half ago from a private party. First problem was a clicking noise in the left suspension when cornering or driving into my garage step, so I had the left triangle suppott changed, noise disappeared for some days then came back again. Second problem was with the rear left caliper, popped up when I had the rear brake pads changed at a garage shop but somehow right after I had a lot of smoke coming from the rear left wheel, as the garage was 100km I just was reviewing your videos and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it myself (rearleft caliper change, rear right caliper repair - seals & piston replacement).
Do you thonk it s time to throw away this car ? I'm unable to decide as didn''t have any engine problems with it - still turns like a clock.
Hello,
The Audi A3 is bacily a Vw Golf, they share the same running gear and suspension,
A clicking sound from the front on a hard turn could indicate a CV joint is worn,
This is the constant velocity joint on the end of the drive shaft.
I include a link to CV joint replacement for you information.
If you like the car maybe take it to a different repairer and have them look it over,
It may help you decide to keep it or not.
All the Best.

Thank's
If it runs and you arent putting money into with endless repair why get rid of it ?
Tought having the rear calipers worn out is a sign for upcoming issues...Though, I might be wrong.
