1997 mitsubishi eclipse rs 2.0l 420A non turbo 5 speed manual
I recently replaced my 2.0l 420A non turbo engine. I am having an issue with the idle when its cold starts up fine. But after I start driving the car idle starts dropping. I lose acceleration and it stalls bad. the old engine had a knock but it ran fine. I noticed that the crank position sensor was jb weld on. When I replaced the engine I purchased a new crank position sensor and had it installed. I also replaced the Idle air control valve with a Mopar unit. I also replaced the vehicle speed sensor because the speedometer was not working still not working. I have a 5 speed manual. The car starts up with no issues. I here the fuel pump turning on. a fuel pump and I am going to replace the fuel filter. This is my sons car and I have tried everything and spent a lot doing it. I have been looking at your post and feel you have the experience to guide me please help Dennis. My phone # ——————
Before the installing the engine I had the timing belt water pump and rear main seal replaced. The compression was good.

Hi! Always appreciate a father going through all lots of trouble for their sons, as well as their son's cars.
I think the fuel pump and fuel filter would be a basic thing too, but the most basic are the Air Filter if not changed. But my guess is the fuel pump, hoping it's just that.
