Scotty, my wife works with a guy who is wanting to get rid of a 2016 Ford Fusion. He didn't say much about it yet except that it runs and drives great and it's been sitting for two years and he wants it gone because he is tired of paying the insurance. He bought it for his son who works from home and apparently doesn't really use it. It has around 120,000 miles. He is wanting around $4,500 for it. I'm trying to wait for used car prices to go down like everyone is saying but this "seemed" like a good deal. Obviously have a mechanic check it but what are your thoughts? Thanks.
They're very nice cars to cruise in. Definitely have a mechanic check it out first.
Here's some tidbits on the engines that I learned while I owned a 1.6L 2013 Fusion
If it's an EcoBoost, I'd shy away from the 1.5L and 1.6L engines, they're way too small for that big car and will wear out before they should. The 2.0L EcoBoost is a better match for the car but also makes it quite fast, so someone may have driven it like their hair's on fire. A mechanic can tell that quickly.
The naturally aspirated 2.5L engine has the power of the two tiny EcoBoost engines, with regular fuel injection, no direct injection. If you want it to last the longest, and it has that engine, I'd go with that one if a mechanic approves.
I had a 2015 Fusion SE with a normal 2.5 L aspirated gas engine. The thing never had any issues and all parts were still original when I sold it at 100,000 miles. I think $4,500 is a good price. I sold my Fusion at $12,000 two months ago.
