- Hey scotty big fan. I have 1997 Avalon it has 239k on it. It Vibrating really badd when its up to temp & burning alot oil more then usual... help me plz lol
it's a good time to check your motor and transmission mounts if the vibration is in "the seat of your pants".
If the vibration is in the steering wheel, then check for tire balance, bad tire or bad CV joint in the drive axle.
- @mrshiftright it vibrats bad in park everything shaking. What I dont get is they the vibration slows down when the ac off? When its on its shaking like hell.....idk lol would it still be the mounts?
It could be the AC compressor itself out of balance, or the idle kicker that's supposed to boost the idle speed when the AC is on, isn't working... so the RPM is dropping making the vibration worse instead up being kicked up... Check your engine mounts - have someone hold the brake and shift back and forth from D and R, watch how much the engine twists... if you have blown engine mounts, you'll see the engine jump up.
Change your PCV valve if it's burning a lot of oil, hope that's all it is. If not, the engine is probably just worn internally. Live with it or junk the car.
@ -- yes by all means check the AC compressor mount, as well as motor mounts.
Ok ill check it....thank you guys for the help
