Hey Scotty thanks for all you do for us! My question is, I am a college student that wants a reliable (as much as can be) RWD V8 sports/muscle car. I'm looking at 2005-2009 Mustang GTs. Do you have much experience with them/what other cars would you recommend? Thanks!
I would say that out of the Mustang GT years you chose, that 2009 would be the best year, but it you want a really reliable RWD V8 vehicle I would get a Crown Vic that was a used grandparent vehicle and swap it to a 5 speed manual. You can make the Crown Vic's a quick car by supercharging, or turbo charging it. They can handle a ton of abuse stock and with mods so I would choose a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. It would be a sleeper that most people wouldn't expect it was quick. Also there are taxi cabs that are Crown Vic's and Grand Marquis that have 400,000-500,000 miles on them with normal maintenance. You can get these for $1,000-$10,000. $10,000 for a like new one and in the middle for one with lower mileage and in OK condition. You could also find a private seller and it could be even cheaper for a good condition one.
