Hello Scotty I am looking for a new cheap car to get me to and from work. My buddy is selling a 1997 Toyota Corolla with 230,000 miles for 800 bucks. He took care of it and I have driven it doesn’t seem to have any problems. What would your advice be? Being the car has so many miles?

For $800, jump on it (especially considering today’s market as @doc mentioned)!
If it has been taken care off & doesn’t have any problems, it probably still has >50% of its life, left in it..

Sounds like a deal to me. Especially considering where I live, a 1999 Tacoma is going for $12,900.
