1998 Buick century p1441 code (90000 miles)

I’ve got a troublesome purge valve for my Buick and it likes to flick on and off rapidly. I just replaced it and it throws a p1441 code whenever I plug it back in and drive it for a while (I keep it unplugged). I’ve also checked the evap lines and didn’t get anything. Any ideas?
