Scotty, love your video car reviews - watch them frequently. Could you do a review of a '98 Cadillac Catera? Found one with 51k miles and reads like it would be a good deal. Private sale, owner lists no problems, car runs well. But most reviews I read said steer clear of this car by a country mile! Numerous expensive engine problems. 01/02/2021
Thank you! {black}:laughingoutloud:
Don't pay much (<$1000). I'd steer clear as I will bet over the next 50k miles there will be significant maintenance expense costing far more than it's worth.
That is an Opel powertrain and no one knows how to work on them I would stay far away from them.
The Cadillac Catera is a rebadged Vauxhall Omega, they did import to many Cateras to North America and spare parts might have to be imported from Europe. The parts will be expensive.
I would pass on a 1998 Catera
Opel Omega. Vauxhall is sold only in UK and uses Opel's models under its name. Opel was owned by GM until 2017 for almost 90 years.
