Hi Scotty, I just bought a 1998 Civic 5-speed and the guy I bought it from only drove it a couple months in the winter and then it sat till now. I have changed the oil, and coolant because when I got home there wasn't any in it! It has been about a month since and it has stopped leaking any fluid but only after the oil level drops to around 3/4 full, should I be worried about this or just keep driving it? I'm pretty familiar with other car problems but I am not too sure about this one.
Also could I serve as a mod? I have a fancy for helping people out and know a good bit about cars but not your 50+ years worth!
If head gasket is good? Oil is cheap keep eye on dip stick, should be ok. Also watch temperature. Best was to see if you are qualified to moderate,,,look at questions for a week, see if your answers would match current moderators...i have 54 years in auto business and I still am learning.lol
@jackofall
I would do all round changes of brakes disks and spark plugs I would change the oil I would do a complete coolant flush run a hose pipe through it unplug the bottom pipe from the engine going into the radiator and flush the entire engine with a hosepipe
That's all good! Flush brake fluid if u want. C.v. joints and boots. Rear wheel bearings...u would have a new car...u can contact Scotty see what he says. Always need help as Scotty gets busy with videos.
