My partner's uncle, Greg the Mechanic, has a 1999 C230 with 100K on the original normally aspirated 6 Cyl motor that he wants me to adopt for the bargain-basement price of $2000 plus shipping from Georgia. This car would replace my 2000 Nissan Maxima (last of the good Nissans, right) with 150K on the clock (which is burned out now) and a five speed manual transmission. Should I put the $2,000 into the Maxima or jump ship to the Mercedes?

Do you have money to burn? Because a 22-year-old Mercedes will surely help you light the match.
I wouldn't touch it.
