I recently found a honda accord for sale for 4,300. Supposedly it has a little under 29k miles which is backed up by a carfax. Should I believe what the odometer and the carfax say or is this too good to be true given the mileage and the price? Thank you.
Don't believe Carfax, KBB, Consumer Reports or anybody even remotely connected (or trying to be) to your money. Get a quality scan, among other things (compression test) to see if it's the real deal or not.
29,000 original miles on a 22 year old car. I would keep looking. Unless it was owned by an old couple who barely drove that, do not buy that car. They are hiding something that you don't know about.
Maybe it’s 290K, and they forgot the extra 0. Highly unlikely this is legit, but you never know if that hidden gem out there.
That's what I was thinking at first but there's a carfax that backs the 29k miles, also the pictures make it look like a car with that mileage. I'm going to be taking my scan tool as well as someone who knows about cars to look at it with me. Definitely gonna take my time evaluating everything and the moment things seem fishy I'm leaving. Hopefully, it is a hidden gem though.
