I'm looking at a 1999 Honda Civic on facebook marketplace. It's at a dealership
Car has 130,000 miles on it and they've got it listed for $1800. I need something for at least about a year. I do make 2-3 trips monthly out of town an hour away. From photos looks pretty good condition. I'm expecting some records from a dealership
Would it do for now for about a year for what I need, or should I just wait? I'm thinking I could drive it then sell and buy a newer vehicle after working and saving. Hell could probably just keep it. Doubt I'd put more than 10,000 miles on it. Conservative driver. Out of all the cheap cars I've seen, looks about the best deal. I looked at a Cadillac 04 SRX for $1600 at like 120,000, but I read to avoid them.
I wouldn't buy anything on Facebook Marketplace. If you are going to have the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic and it checks out, it sounds like something that will do what you want. The dealer thing is a big red flag.
A used car lot that's selling cars whose age is measured in decades is highly suspect right off the bat. (Unless of course they're selling classics and even then you have to watch out.)
If you do look at it better have a mechanic check it out thoroughly. Sounds like a BHPH lot deal that could break down a block from the dealership.
Half a block!
I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. 😆
Very generous, Chuck, admirable too.
Forgot, cars an automatic
