hey Scotty, and all I can answer this recently purchased a 99 Toyota Corolla 99CE automatic for my daughter vehicle was used by an elderly man who doesn’t drive it anymore. It has 160 K everything works on it but when I’m driving it at 30 miles an hour it starts shifting back-and-forth until you get to 40 so between 30 miles an hour and 40 it has a weird shifting and a weird smell then but other than that everything is perfect, what do you think that could be? Any suggestions what I should do to tone it up I really done spark plugs a valve, cover serpentine belt and alternator and checked all the fuses and changed oil. I haven’t touched the transmission. It looks OK but I don’t know when the last time it was serviced and he answers with greatly be appreciated

A worn transmission. Since there are apparently no service records it may well never have had the fluid or filter changed. Is fluid level OK? What is the fluid condition?
