Hi there, I have a toyota voxy with a 1az fse engine 152000 miles I recently had a rough idle and I cleaned my throttle body and maf sensor and its running smooth again. The issue I am having now is when I cold start my car I still have a delayed fast idle for about 3 seconds and I think that my iac valve needs cleaning, the thing is I don't know where the iac valve is I have an electronic throttle body I need some help thanks 😆

If it only happens on cold starts, and then settles back at 800-900rpm after a few seconds, it’s normal.

Is this a similar problem to your previous question? -

Here is a video I recorded it's on YouTube

Sounds normal to me..

This engine is exactly all of what’s wrong with modern Toyota - everything is so weak I don’t not even know what to exactly point at

the low quality EGR valve is makes this engine very overgrow with carbon deposits. That would be my number one guess.

if your engine is made before 2006, and pray that it was not, that’s how it looks like when the weak threads on the head of the engine let coolant mix into engine oil. Toyota engines rev higher and higher on start from wear (something about their ECUs just has that tendency).

from my experience with Toyota some of them also just rev for no reason. So it could be also that that’s just normal operation.

Well maybe i guess but that is the only thing that does not sound right to me but the car does run ok otherwise though thanks

I’d check for carbon deposits, and if the engine oil seems fine then I’d just live with it.
With the correct service you can still get 200k miles or more from that engine 🙂

thanks man i appreciate it
