What would be a good, safe,reliable, 1st car for my son who is 6 foot 3 and growing?Hopefully under 2 grand.

@crrtynd
I would go for a Crown Victoria or possibly a GM with a 3.8 liter engine.

I'm about that tall and I can fit into my civic and my hair barely brushes up against the roof liner and its a pretty small car so you shouldn't have a heap of issues finding something and you can also get lower seat rails that your seats bolt into if you find a car you really like and its slightly too small. Cheers

I personally like the Ford Crown Victoria (or the Lincoln/mercury variants) A big, very safe, and reliable car. A ton of them were made so they are pretty cheep.

Under two grand is a hard number to hit in these times but an older Camry with the 2.2L 4 cylinder might fit the bill if you can find a nice, clean one. I've owned several and they've been fantastic cars. Also, easy to service so it's a good learning experience for your kid.

with a $2k budget and he's a teenager, maybe a 2005 Ford 500 with a CVT is an option
