Hey Scotty, Is there any minor or major mechanical harm in me putting 20 inch or 22 inch rims on my 2014 camry se? And is true that rims that size would cut the life span of my tranny and engine?

no extra wear on suspension or powertrain as long as tires are properly sized to new size wheels. Use tiresize.com to find correct tire size.
Over 20s, tires are expensive.

it's going to put more wear on your suspension, because there's less "tire" to absorb shocks.
