Hello!
Should I purchase a used 2011-2012 Infiniti G37x/G37xS under 100,000km (Canadian here 😊) for $10,000?
Planning to go to a used dealership but also looking at private.
Thank you for all the help!
Ok they are fun and dependable cars for a while but Scotty said his customers' fell apart around 140 150k miles, which is 240k kilometers. The CVT is the weakest part but it is rwd so it lasts a bit longer. I would not buy it if you think that you will keep it forever. For 4 5 years it could be a good car though.
G37 do not have CVT transmissions. They have 7 spd AT that are fairly bulletproof as long as you're not beating the hell out of them and changing the fluid at 50k increments.
Yes my bad the 7 speed autos are pretty good transmissions.
Not a pro but probably not. I think it has a Nissan cvt front wheel drive transmission. If it does then I would say heck no. But like I said I am no pro. 🤷♂️
rear wheel drive they are.
Then it’s probably worth it they still made reliable rear wheel drive and for $10000 is right about on the fence. I would feel better in the $8500-9000 range but seams like a fair deal if you get a professional to look at and get a seal of approval why not🤷♂️
I've got a friend whose got a 2008 g35s daily commuter with a little over 200,000 mi. It still runs like a clock & shifts like a dream. I put new 02 sensors on it, changed the trans fluid, and put new struts on the front for him this summer. He's had it since almost new and that's about all he's needed done to it aside from regular maintenance. He takes good care of it and in turn it has taken good care of him. On the other hand I've seen them falling apart with half the milage. They can be great cars if you treat them well. Very fun and quick car I might add.
I owned a 2011 G37, not the x version, for 3 years until someone rearended me and totaled it. I will say it was the best car I've owned. I never had 1 issue with it, and it was very fun to drive. I would recommend a G37 to anyone looking for a reliable, fun and sporty car. Mine had a 7 speed automatic transmission- not a cvt.
Definitely reliable and a solid built car. It’s not a cvt and those rear wheel drive set ups are strong. And at 62000 miles basically that thing is a baby I say it’s a good buy
