Hi Scotty. Big fan here!!

Im the original owner of a 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS with 122600 miles. All I did is change the oil, battery and brakes.

Im starting to get worried that nothing ever brakes on this car. Should i start replacing things now before they break like the alternater, starter.....??

thanks

michael from florida

I don't think that it would be necessary to replace the starter, alternator or the like. What you might want to do is replace cam belt, hoses, serpentine belt, spark plugs, filters, tans fluid and such if not already serviced.

Have a good mechanic look over your brakes, brake lines, shocks and suspension maybe if  it would help you sleep better. If you keep it maintained and don't run into a deer, you shouldn't have much to repair until 2 or 300,000 miles.
