Hey Scotty,

What's your thoughts on a 2000-2003 Tahoe for daily driving, affordability on maintenance and repairs and reliability? I've seen them online with 200k-300k+ miles. I'd love a 2010-2014 Toyota 4runner limited but they're toooooooo expensive. They're as much as the new vehicles. So I'm trying to get a cheaper option with no payments, that lasts and won't be a money pit.

The Tahoe will eat you alive on fuel.

So do you think the 4runner is better on fuel versus the Tahoe?

Ya think?

I would go for 4runner

Old Tahoe were good cars but since the cars is old. It will have plenty of issues and not to forget gas prices right now.

So in short get 4runner

between those two, the difference in fuel economy is negligible

Trucks/suv's and fuel economy don't go had-in-hand. 2000-2003 Tahoe's are too old now to be considered daily-driver reliable, imho.

4runner will still be lousy on fuel economy, about 19-20 mpg's., but that's better than the 17-18 mpg's a Tahoe would get.

This isn't a cheap alternative but in order to increase your options you might also want to consider the Toyota Sequoia. It uses gas like crazy but since you're considering a Tahoe I'm assuming that isn't an issue for you.
