Hi,
I am looking at getting a seventh generation honda civic. Are these good cars? What are common issues I might face if I get one of these cars?
I am only wanting this for a daily driver to get me around the city so it doesn't have to be very powerful or anything.
Yes I have one and I haven't had any problems with it in 6 years or more. Love the car and everything about it. I can't think of one negative thing to say about it other than the asshats that had it before me mess up the paint my scratching it up :(. Perfect on gas and nice and zippy for a small car. It's easily the best car I've ever owned and plan on keeping it forever
Just stay away from the 2006-8 models, they had a engine recall that was only good for 10 years. So if it did not get replaced by Honda, it's a ticking time bomb. A good friend of mine had one, and the engine detonated on the freeway. Luckily it was still under recall warranty. Which saved him a couple grand. He did have to pay for some parts not covered by warranty, but at least a majority of the cost was covered by Honda.
