Dear Scotty,
Happy Holidays. Best wishes to you and your family.
My 2000 Toyota Camry V6 currently has 235,058 miles. My last spark plug change was at 195,118 miles during February 2016 or 39,940 miles ago. It had been more than 4 years and close to 40,000 miles since the spark plugs was last changed.
Toyota service manual recommended a change interval of platinum spark plugs every 4 years or 60,000 miles.
I replaced the valve cover gasket 8,000 miles and 10 months ago.
Are my spark plugs past due for change? Should I wait a bit longer? Thank you very much for your assistance in advance for this matter.
I'd always go with the manufacturer's recommended interval. Do you know what kind of spark plugs are in there? If you have iridium plugs, they should last much longer than the platinums mentioned in the manual.
